Welcome to my knife site. I am pleased to
present to you some of my custom work. As an avid outdoor sportsman and a
long-time hunter and fisherman, I know just how important a knife is to
performing in the field, whether for dressing game, filleting fish or general
camp duties. I believe, however, that a knife must not only be functional, but
be aesthetically pleasing as well.
I have formal technical training in knife
making, and have been actively involved in the craft for over 10 years. I have
taken several knife-making seminars and workshops in both Canada and USA, and am
a member of the Saskatchewan Knife Makers Guild.
Each knife that I craft is unique and, if
cared for properly, will last a lifetime. Most are made with the stock removal
method using ATS 34 and 440 stainless steel heat treated to a hardness of
between 58 and 60 on the Rockwell Scale. You will note from the photos in my
Gallery that many of my hunting knives are hollow ground using ATS 34, which in
my experience has the best edge-holding capabilities.

I have recently made my first Damascus
steel bar, and am now in the process of completing three knives from this
material.
I have access to a wide range of
stabilized natural woods for the knife handles, as well as other natural
materials such as many types of animal horn, mastodon ivory and tusk.
I make a hand-fitted leather sheath to
complement each knife. As you can see from the photos in my gallery, small and
medium-sized knives can also be fitted with horizontal sheaths. My sheaths have
been treated with a mixture of hot oil and beeswax which insures maximum
durability.
As well, there are photos in my gallery of
custom-made exotic wooden presentation cases I have crafted that can be
specially ordered for a knife intended as the ultimate gift.
Please take some time and tour my site.
